- Started using Andrew Bingham's eWURF application to define the requirements for the Thornaby Indoor Bowls Club Website and Fixtures/Results System. Requirements captured thus far include the functional and non-functional objectives, web actors, functional tasks, user interface requirements, usability requirements and technical requirements.
- Determining a feasible project plan for the solution, identifying the key dates for the major stages of the project (Planning, Design, Analysis, Implementation and Testing).
- Analysing existing methodologies to identify an appropriate methodology for the current project, considering hindrances such as time, cost etc.
- Research conducted to analyse the history of the Internet and how the Internet has changed, trends in web browsers, identifying the concepts of law (Privacy/Data Protection Act 1998, Copyright Design and Patents Act 2000 and Accessible websites - Disability Discrimination Act 1998), identifying an appropriate application to develop the solution, discovering the history of PHP, identifying the target audiences, and finally identifying the differences between PHP and PHP5.
- Brief UML design work has been completed, identifying the major tasks and actors associated with the solution to develop Use Case Diagrams, Class Diagrams and Flow Diagrams.
- Design storyboards established by analysing existing indoor bowls club websites, to identify colour trends, design layouts and functional structure (e.g. PHP, Java, C/C#).
- Determining which navigation concepts to include in the final solution by analysing Navigation Bars, Breadcrumb Trails, Interactive Logos.
In the next fortnight I will make another post regarding the progress of my solution, commenting on any issues or problems that I have come across.
